Injection Grouting of Water Pipelines – Vancouver, BC
The Project In a major infrastructure maintenance effort, water pipelines in Vancouver required controlled dewatering for inspection and servicing. The Challenge Conventional shutdown methods posed logistical risks and environmental challenges. The client needed a solution that minimized service disruption while ensuring dry access. The Solution Intrusion Prepakt performed precision injection grouting around the pipelines to seal off groundwater ingress points. This enabled safe, dry access for internal pipe work without full system shutdown. Project Facts Location: Vancouver, British Columbia Technique: Injection Grouting Scope: Groundwater cut-off for pipeline access Client: Municipal Infrastructure Authority
Maple Ridge Pump Station – Permeation Grouting
The Project Upgrades to the Maple Ridge sanitary pump station required excavation adjacent to aging infrastructure and water-bearing soils. The Challenge Unstable soil conditions and high water tables posed a risk to excavation safety and structural integrity. The Solution Intrusion Prepakt executed a permeation grouting program to densify and waterproof the surrounding soils. This stabilized the excavation and mitigated groundwater inflow, ensuring a dry, safe work zone. Project Facts Location: Maple Ridge, British Columbia Technique: Permeation Grouting Application: Soil stabilization for deep excavation Client: Regional District Utility Services
Elko Bridge – CN Rail
The Project CN Rail required reinforcement at the Elko Bridge to address long-term scour and foundation exposure issues. The Challenge The site featured flowing water, limited access, and an active rail line, requiring underwater construction with minimal disruption to rail operations. The Solution Intrusion Prepakt installed underwater scour protection and placed tremie concrete to encapsulate and armor exposed bridge foundations, all performed with environmental control and active rail traffic management. Project Facts Location: Elko, British Columbia Client: Canadian National Railway (CN) Techniques: Tremie Concrete, Scour Protection Scope: Bridge foundation reinforcement
Zeballos Dam – Permeation Grouting of Ancient Rockfall Zone
The Project The Zeballos Dam was constructed over a basin partially compromised by an ancient rockfall, resulting in significant water loss through fractured bedrock. The Challenge The fractured rock mass beneath a portion of the dam allowed impounded water to seep out, threatening reservoir function and dam efficiency. The Solution Intrusion Prepakt designed and executed a targeted permeation grouting program. Grout was injected into the fractured rockfall zone to seal voids and restore the integrity of the reservoir basin. Project Facts Location: Zeballos, British Columbia Technique: Permeation Grouting Application: Reservoir retention remediation Client: BC Hydro (or relevant agency if known)
ACIP Piles in Intermediate Geomaterials – North America
The Project Multiple projects across North America required deep foundation solutions in variable ground conditions such as soft rock, clay shale, and glacial till. The Challenge Intermediate geomaterials (IGMs) like partially weathered rock or stiff clay posed challenges in pile socketing, load transfer, and boring consistency. The Solution Intrusion Prepakt successfully applied ACIP pile technology using customized tooling, advanced grouting systems, and real-time monitoring. This approach enhanced shaft resistance and bearing capacity in difficult subsurface conditions. Project Facts Locations: Various (e.g., Miami, Philadelphia, Regina) Technique: Augered Cast-in-Place (ACIP) Piles Application: Load-bearing in IGMs including soft limestone, clay shale, and dense tills Market: Infrastructure, Industrial, Commercial
Bideford Bridge – Foundation Protection & Void Remediation
The Project Bideford Bridge, one of the oldest bridges in south western England, required urgent structural safeguarding to preserve its foundations against scour and degradation. Our Role Intrusion Prepakt was retained to design and supervise the installation of underwater grout bags around the bridge piers. These formed a protective barrier against erosion and hydraulic forces. Following placement, all detected sub-foundation voids were filled using tremie concrete techniques, ensuring structural continuity and long-term stability—executed with precision in a sensitive, aging infrastructure environment.
Subsea Formworks (SF) (PG)
Subsea Formworks (SF‑PG) are pre-engineered, fabric-formed systems designed to encapsulate and protect subsea foundations, piles, and structural elements. These flexible forms are placed around underwater components and filled with grout or concrete to create high-strength jackets or pads. SF‑PG systems provide erosion control, scour mitigation, and structural reinforcement in high-energy marine environments—ideal for bridges, offshore structures, pipelines, and caissons requiring long-lasting underwater protection with minimal installation disruption.
Super 8 by Wyndham – Slab Stabilization & Void Grouting
The Project The car park at the Super 8 by Wyndham in Abbotsford, BC, experienced widespread base material settlement beneath the concrete slab, leaving large voids and unsupported underground utilities. Our Role Intrusion Prepakt was contracted to stabilize the entire slab area by pressure grouting beneath the concrete surface. Our team filled voids, restored structural support, and ensured stability for the slab and pipework. The non-invasive process was completed without disruption to ongoing operations, extending the life of the pavement and infrastructure.
